Workshop Description:

This laptop-open workshop moves beyond theory to give HR professionals direct practice using AI tools on real public sector tasks. Working through the CHATPROMPT framework, attendees will draft recruitment bulletins, structured interview questions, and communications while applying an ethics lens at every step: bias, privacy, transparency, and defensibility under audit. Participants leave with prompts they can use and a clearer sense of where AI belongs, and where it does not, in their daily work.

Speaker Bio:
Dr. Frank Olmos, Ed.D., is President of DFO HR Consulting, Executive Director of Classified Personnel and Personnel Commission for Bellflower Unified School District, and Adjunct Professor of Statistics at California State University, Los Angeles. With more than twenty years in California Merit System HR, he is the developer of the CHATPROMPT framework, author of Smells Like A.I. Spirit, and the 2024 recipient of the Stephen E. Bemis Memorial Award. He has delivered AI and assessment training to agencies including Los Angeles Unifified School District, the Los Angeles Superior Court, WRIPAC, and CPS HR Consulting.
